06 mini cooper owner needs assistance
 

Hello guys, I just bought a used mini cooper 06 with 91k miles. This is my first mini purchase (and car in general). I'm lacking in knowledge base and came here to see if anyone has had a similar situation and could help me out. So here goes my story: The car had a leak at the sunroof area which I fixed. I had to take the whole rug out and dry it. There is one main issue with the car due to the flooding; on the drivers side panel just to the left of the pedals there is this one piece that got damaged due the water. I'm new to cars in general and I don't know how to identify this piece, I'll add pictures of it. As shown in the picture the wiring are screwed and nasty looking. Also due to this the car has electrical issues such as: The speedometer and tachometer don't work properly, AND when I remove the keys out of the ignition the brake lights stay on. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
