2006 Mini Engine Sound
Hi guys I'm stumped and don't have many car literate friends and need some insight before I can get to a mechanic as it's mid-week... I have a 2006 mini with 123k mileage and I have a number of issues
I had my steering wheel shaking while braking and have had my brake pads and rotors replaced just last weekend as I need the car and it still has relatively low mileage I also need to replace shocks as well as steering fluid, which I planned to do and this will not be cheap Today I noticed that while driving when I accelerate I hear a rumbling noise, louder than it normally is. When going at a constant speed I don't hear it much. I want to say it sounds like the exhaust. No rattling or any weird sounds, just a revving sound, louder than I'm used to hearing. Does anyone have any idea as to what this could be? It's running smoothly. Aside from a louder than usual noise I don't think it's an issue. Any idea what this could be? I'm a little exhausted by expensive repairs and I'm just wondering now if it's worth replacing the shocks if this noise is also a problem.... any insight would be helpful. Thank you in advance. |
For steering wheel shake, with front end lifted, check wheel by holding and moving it at 3 and 9 O'clock positions. make sure it's tight. It could be worn out control arms.
