3rd Brake Light Issues & Replacing

The 3rd brake light is accessed from the inside. Simply open the hatch and unscrew it and do the bulb exchange. A bigger issue that is posted elsewhere on the web is the lens cracking. A very common problem that I only found out when my hatchback and battery well under the carpet was wet and filled with H2O after the dealer washed the car! They are trying to say someone tried to pry it off, but I think it is a manufacturer's issue. Other takers on this one?
