Battery Draining??
 

hi there,
my wife has an 04 R50 Mini Cooper that appears to have developed a battery/electrical problem. a couple of times when she has gone to start the car it has been dead. i have checked the alternator current and that all seems fine and when the battery is charged after a run there seems to be no problem with it holding its charge.
she has experienced a problem with the headlight stalk in as much as sometimes when she tries to shut off the lights they stay on? she has to turn them on and then off again to get them to shut down. i am wondering if this is a faulty lighting stalk and have ordered a replacement but i just wanted to know if anyone has any ideas that i may have missed or that are a regular occurence on this model.
the replacement stalk is cheap enough to replace just on the off chance that it is faulty but if there is any other common faults associated with the battery draining that anyone could advise me to check i would be really grateful. i hate having to go out with a jump pack in the foul weather to get her up and running!
thanks in advance for any info that anyone can share with me regarding this issue as i am almost positive that the battery and alternator are behaving as they should.

unsure on your year but mini has a feature to light the way in by doing that the lights stay on for 5 minutes.

your drain could be a relay sticking for the fans for the radiotor or the power steering pump
