Hatch door mis-alignment

I have a 03 MINI with a hatch door that does not close. The dealer suggest I have a major replacement of the hindges. Is there an alternitive?:confused:

I'm guessing that the hinges must be damaged or bent causing the trouble ...
Since you don't have pictires ect it's hard to tell

The hinge in bent. It is out of line by a 1cm.:confused:

Most dealers will not try to "straighten" items ... They replace things ... Dunno if you could attempt to straighten it yourself or not

We had this problem in our 2002 Mini Cooper, and it was resolved by lubricating the hinge: The issue was resolved by this, but I keep a careful eye on it now.

This happened to me on my '04. Over the past several weeks, I've noticed it more and more difficult to close the hatch. Couldn't really see anything wrong with it looking where it attaches to the car. Well yesterday it broke right off when I went to close it.

What does it take to replace the hinge? Is there anywhere to buy them?
