I recently purchased a 53 plate mini cooper and it is in need of a new front bumper. I really like the way the cooper s front bumper's look but i'm really confused as to whether they do actually fit or not. Would a R56 front bumper fit on to it???
I would really appreciate some help, thankkkkkkksss

 

R53 = 1st gen
R56= 2nd gen also not an S
bumpers are not interchangable

 

Are you talking bumper COVERS or the metal structure behind it (actual bumper ) is not interchangeable ? I'm looking at a couple of newer covers for my R50 ('04 non-S ), I want to delete the insert for the lic. plate, and would like some clarity on this. The covers LOOK the same, do the newer ones have different mounting tabs (or ??) that don't match up to the 'OLD' metal bumpers ? WHAT doesn't fit ?
