Moldy smell

I bought a 2004 mini about 6 weeks ago and am extremely happy with it. One thing when I turn on the A/C I get a moldy smell for the first 3 minutes and then it subsides. I just ordered a charcoal cabin filter which I will replace. Anything else I should check / look for asto the cause?

Well I just my 2011 Mini about a month ago, It has 18000 miles and I just now started getting that smell. After the phone call to the service center. I turn on the fan on med open the the recric to open and srayed. now lets see if this works I believe it will
