My First R50 Cooper

2 Attachment(s)
Hi All,
I recently purchased My 2002 Mini Cooper R50
Loving the car but a bit new to the bmw minis, as I always had Austin minis)

If anyone can help me out (already)
I went to start my mini today and the speedo and tachometer are not working, needles are just, not moving, my fuel and Tempature are the same way.

The handbrake light stays on even when it's off, my tachometer has the centre orange light on, and it seems like nothing is communicating.

I did scan the obd2 and came up with one error code
P1612
It's a bit weird because I hooked up a external obd2 digital readout HUD and I can see the speed and revs working fine ?, now this is really confusing)

Any help will be most appreciated

Cheers
Joseph

P1612 Serial Communication Link Instrument Pack - Similar issue here and he solved it at post #3. See if this helps you troubleshoot the problem.
