Rattling from rear brakes

Rattling from rear brakes
Ever since I replaced the pads on the rear of my 2005, there has been a rattling sound. It sounds like a machine gun rattling at any speed, and is especially noticeable on the driver side. Any thoughts?
I've gone back and everything looks fine visually. The pad does have some play in the caliper, and I'm thinking that either the pad doesn't fit properly or the caliper has an issue.

I replaced the pads myself with pads purchased from Advance Auto...maybe their brand? They appeared to be a direct replacement, as I compared them to the old pads. I retracted the cylinders using a tool designed for these brakes. There appeared to be nothing bent or lose on the pads themselves.
The pads seem to be a bit loose in the caliper. The rattling ceases when the brakes are applied, and start right back to rattling as soon as the brakes are released.
