Has anyone ever replaced a passenger door glass WITHOUT using that dumb special tool that removes a starpoint screw from the framing? The tool # is 8330 0494 251, and apparently Mini is the only source to buy this tool. AND THERE ARE ONLY 3 AVAILABLE IN THE U.S. !!!! They cost $115. I live 5 hours away from a Mini dealer, and I'll be danged if I'm going to drive there to have them remove this screw, then drive back home to have a glass replacement service do the work (Glass Doctor). They won't touch this screw without the special tool. HELP !!!!!!
