Default Resetting Oil Mileage

Finally could not resist and picked up a 2002 Mini. White over yellow. When gas hit $4.00 it was an easy justification. Have had the car a week and changed the plugs, wires, oil, air, etc. Question is how in the world do you reset the Miles to oil change that comes on when you start the car. It's obvious that the shops that changed the oil for the car did not know how to do it because it is reading -14,000 miles! Fortunately I have receipts showing that the oil was changed during this period.

Also, is there a Hanes manual printed for these cars yet??

And finally, what is the deal wit the fuel filter?? Autozone shows it as a part that is not serviceable.

Thanks. Mark

turn the key to the second position and hold the odo reset button, tst will appear. keep holding until rst appears. press the reset again and it will reset the your service indicator. the plugs and wires don't need to be changed until 100k. it is 15k for oil changes and that is minis recomended interval. you can get a low mileage oil change which the service indicator is not reset and no micro filter. that is at 7k. the deal with the fuel filter is that there is none. sorry

Did not check site uintil today. Funny enough stopped by your shop and someone printed the tech sheet for me. Disappointed that there is no shop manual to purchase. Thanks for the info though. Now looking for our second MINI and 12th car.

You can get a service manual for the 2002-2006 on e-bay; either paper or on DVD I have both. I paid 70 bucks for the paper one and 15 for the DVD just a few weeks ago.

As for changing the fuel filter, this si the pic and part number
