Squeaking from the brakes normal?

I'm new to the forum, and am seeking some help. I have a 2005 Mini cooper. In the beginning everything was okay, but I have been noticing squeaking coming from the brakes every time I come to a stop, and I got to say it is getting pretty annoying. I've taken it to the mini dealer many many times, and they told me everytime that it's normal. I honestly think that they are giving me the run around. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this problem? Is it an easy fix, do I need to take it some where? I would appreciate the input, and advice. Thanks in advance.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. The car has about 27000 miles on it, and yes they are stock brakes. Now that i think about it, the car has been doing that ever since its passed about 10,000 miles.

I've got 30K on my brakes and they are very quiet the only noise I hear are after a wash the rotors rust and the first stop or two and thats the rust wearing off ...
I'm assuming the dealer inspected the brakes ?? Meaning the pads are not worn out , I'm wondering if the rotors are glazed ...
If it was mine I'd take some 60 grit sandpaper and clean up the rotors and see if the noise goes away

Yeah, the dealer did inspect the brakes and said they were fine every time. 60 grit sand paper? Do I just go over the rotor lightly? I was told by someone that I should put some copper slip grease behind the brakes pads. That wouldn't help, would it?

They make a brake pad Antisqueal , the stuff I use is orange you paint the rear of the pad and the piston , let dry and install ...

60 grit on a small air sander works wonders if it is glazed pads , that or have them turned if they are grooved up ...
