Hi, Im new here and have a question. I am looking to purchase a 02 or 03 Cooper S, with between 50-70K miles. The question I have is, I know people say to avoid the 02-04 Coopers due to the amount of transmission problems, but what about the Cooper S from 02-04? Does the Cooper S have a better transmission or does it have the same transmission issues as the Cooper.

The Cooper S has always had a solid transmission. Up until '07 the Cooper has been a 5 speed and the S has been a 6 speed.
