03 Mini S high idle and rpm jump between shifts
 

hi, my name is Brian. kinda new to this mini thing... i bought an 03 Mini Cooper S about a month ago. car has 116k on it. have had absolutly no issues with the car until this morning. car ran perfect last night. when i started car this morning to come to work it started right up. it normally drops right to about 800-900rpm right after start. since i started it, its now at about 1200-1300rpm at idle even after it warmed up. also noticed that when i up shift, the rpms will jump about 400-500rpm higher as i push the clutch in and have no pressure on the gas peddle... again it has never done this before this morning.

UPDATE!! Car runs perfect if not better then ever before... problem is i must have a ghost... after 4 hours at the dealer yesterday, diag. tests, the car would not mimic the issues for the tech... he checked for vacumm leaks and also lubed just about anything that has to do with the throttle... but i got a new power steering pump out of it and the testing only cost me $75. i did however reset the ECU and wow does that make a difference in the performance of the car!
