05 MCS Oil Consumption, clutch suggestions

Wife's 2005 MCS appears to have started using some oil between changes. Looks like it is using about 1 quart in 3000 miles. Currently 75000 miles on the clock. Always have used Castrol Synthetic oil & BMW filters. No signs of oil on floor or under car but a bit of film seems to form on rear of car.

Any common issues to check first?

Also about time for a clutch, we get a tiny bit of slip on a very hard launch, which we rarely do. Clutches in our other cars typically go way beyond 100K mi., including our 60 Mini, but I gather the clutch in these modern MINIs aren't so robust. Any recommendations on a replacement?

Cheers,

Ken
