2004 Cooper S Key Fob for trunk release
When my wife and I bought our 2004 Cooper S they gave us the option of using the long press on the unlock to either roll down the windows and open the sunroof, or open the trunk.
We've had it set to open the windows, but I'd like to change that. Does anybody know how to do that? |
Which key /key fob do you have ?
mine is a three button lock/unlock and trunk (all on the key) Dealer programmed the lock to open the windows /roof I had them remove that as I bumped the button in my pocket they charged 1/2 hour labor |
my fob doesn't work at all anymore, i have to unlock my car by putting the key in the door handle. is the only way to get this fixed/rest going to a dealer?

have you replaced batteries?

I think there's a bit of confusion over what I'm asking.
I did not replace the key, the key works fine. It's a two button one, lock and unlock. When we bought the car, it was programmed to open the windows and sunroof when you would unlock and hold the unlock button. The dealer told us this could be re-programmed so that when you did this action it would pop the trunk rather than open the windows. My question is how do I re-program the key to change what it does when I long press it. This has nothing to do with replacing a key, or changing the batteries. |
YOU cannot reprogram it has to be done by the dealer they charged me 1/2 hour labor
