Average Miles Per Gallon?
Right now I'm getting about 25.5 mpg but I really lay into the throttle. (just can't help it ) I was wondering if anyone gets much better mpg (in the 29-32 range). Is it me just wasting too much gas in acceleration? I also wondered what everyone's final ratio for 6th gear. (I run at like 2300rpm for 75mph) My old civic ran close to 1800 in 5th.
Maybe I should just say I'm paying for the fun.

I am quite sure that you can affect your milage significantly by your driving habits. Try a tank full with keeping your foot out of it (I know, it will be hard, but you can do it) (OK, just a half a tankful then.) Check your milage and let us know.

RE: Average Miles Per Gallon?
What the hell am I doing wrong? It's actually my wifes car, 06 MCS, but the mileage is terrible. The car mostly sees intown Atlanta driving, so I don't expect it to be great, but it even gets poor mileage on the HW. The computer says that the overall mileage for the car is 22.4mpg. On a flat, straight interstate going 75-80mph, the computer says 26-28mpg. I was hoping that the computer was wrong and reading low, but on a recent trip to Charleston, it got 26mpg overall with most of that being highway miles with the cruise control set at 80mph.
I realize that an S isn't going to get the same mileage as a standard mini, but the thing weighs nothing. I would feel better if it got the mileage that yall are talking about, 26-33mpg, but under 30 on the highway in a tiny car just doesn't make sense to me.
