Clutch Replacement Questions

I'm replacing the clutch on a 2003 Mini Cooper S for a friend. The clutch was replaced a year ago after the owner let her son use the car in Santa Cruz which apparently has some hills. He smoked the original clutch within a couple of months. It was replaced with the Valeo unit. Apparently he smoked that one too. When my friend got her car back she noticed the clutch slipping from time to time and it finally failed catastrophically on the freeway. She had to be towed, the car wouldn't move. I got it apart and there is NO friction material on the disc. So I'm planning to install another Valeo pressure plate, disc and throw out bearing. Money is tight for my friend so I'd like to know what I HAVE to replace and what I SHOULD replace if money wasn't a problem. (I'll help her out if I need to). I see I will have to replace at least one of the axle boots, should they all be replaced at this time? The car has 136K miles on it. What about steering rack boots? How long do those last? I will be replacing the pressure plate bolts since I screwed a couple up. DOH I will also buy the alignment tool.

Yikes. So you got the Valeo Single Mass Flywheel conversion kit? Since the vehicles has that type of mileage, I'd recommend getting our super kits HERE, dual mass flywheel is not included HERE. The super kits include everything you should replace while you're in there to do the job. Everything the kit has is listed at that link for reference. Now, if you did have the single mass, and if you didn't it's a great conversion to do, I'd recommend adding the clutch kit to the cart and deleting out the clutch 21-20-7-551-383-M37, 11-22-7-560-579-M26 fly wheel bolts, and 21-20-7-520-449-M26 clutch bolts and then adding in the conversion kit (which includes the flywheel) HERE. If you have one boot that is torn and can be fixed with just dong a reboot kit (axle isn't clicking), then you can get that HERE. You don't need to do the other ones if they are not torn or show any signs of issues. Same with the steering rack boots. Let me know if you have any questions or need any assistance with putting together any of this.
