Default Driver Window does not work

I have a 2004 MCS. Driver window does not operate. Is it a switch or a motor? Any way to test? Path of least resistance? Any and all info is appreciated!

Bigcheez,

Mini's have many quirks, if your window doesn't want to go down, just hold the window switch in the up position for about 6-8 seconds.
This reset the computer that operates the window, this should fix the problem, and your window should roll down now.

This wil sound funny, but it works!!!! Hit the door panel under ther handle (to open the door and hit the switch)! if this works, repalce the motor.

Driver Window does not work:
after reading the fix, i went out to the garage and opened the drivers door. Rolled the ignition switch forward and (with a medium size rubber mallet) i started tapping on the door (near the speaker) while holding the window switch down. To my surprise the window started to work again.. Holy Smoke..... I would not have believed with my own two eyes. Thanks a Million CRCFrank 2005 MCS 57K
