First Mini Cooper S today...

I'm buying a 2003 Mini Cooper S 6-speed with 55K miles on it this afternoon and I'm really excited! The guy I'm buying it from took great care of it, had the clutch replaced just before it was out of MINI's warranty and even purchased an extended warranty through his credit union so I'm covered until 2011 or 100,000 miles on everything but wear and tear.

The car is solid but it is due for new front brakes. Its my understanding that you can't just replace the brake pads on a Mini and that you have to get new rotors and brake pads for the front. I think the back rotors are fine but I suppose while I'm at it, I might as well replace all brake rotors and brake pads.

I'd like to order some quality and affordable rotors and pads online and have a mechanic install them for $75 labor. Can anyone recommend a set of brakes? Also, is there anything else needed in replacing the rotors/pads? Are there any sensors. Looking forward to being a Cooper owner... I'll post pictures after it comes home.

Best,

n00b Andy

P.S. I've had a 2003 VW GTI VR6 that I bought new in 2004 that made lemon law after 6 months of ownership so I'm really looking forward to having a tight, nice pocket rocket that can stay on the road for a long time...
