ipod upgrade for 2003 cooperS
 

I've noticed in the manual there is an upgrade for iPod's in the glove compartment. I do not have this but I do obviously have the spot where it goes.

Can you get the item after market and install your self or do you have to take it to a technition $$$$

I have one for my 2007 Kenwood stereo in my disco and was wondering if it may be a similar item ?.

Is the stereo easy to remove to fit this item ?.

How do you set it up to work with the padles on the back of the steering wheel ?.

We have one padle which controls the radio on the LHS, on the RHS i'm not sure if it does anything ?. Cruise control is on another button on front of wheel.

My friendly mini parts guys says it is about £100 (AUS$250) for the parts and the same again for labour. To be honest for that sort of price I can get an aftermarket headunit and steering wheel adaptor! might be better to get something like a denison Icelink or something similar for a much cheaper price!

Yeah I tracked one down at the Mini dealer yesterday $350aud !!! cheaper to buy a new iPod with a radio adapter !
