Need help debating on Mini Cooper S

Hello everyone! My wife and I recently got married and have been looking for a nice sporty little car to drive around in. Sometimes long trips from PA to FL because I am a Mini Tour Professional Golfer and attending College in Florida for Golf.

Question is. There is a dealer where I live selling a 2006 Mini Cooper S with 95,000 miles on it. It is a 1 owner ( 67 year old man.) documented oil changes in a book he kept with roughly 7 pages of things and was garaged kept. Very clean carfaxed and when I test drove it. The car drove like a dream. Comes with after market rims, air filter and rally fog lights on the front. My question is the dealer wanted 9995, I talked them down to 9300 with tax and tags. Is this R53 beauty worth the money and what major issues do these cars bring? Also are they fun cars to drive for long periods of time. I personally enjoyed it and even squelled the tires with the sales rep in the car haha.

Thank you, Brandon.

Hi there, the R53 is a very fun car to drive and own. If the previous owner really did take the utmost care of this car then i'm sure your issues down the road will be very few. These cars are pretty comfortable in long drives, more fun on curves than straight aways though. My only concern is the price. If you check craigslist, Minis with that much mileage should be in the $8500-$9000 range. Good luck!
