POTENTIAL SPIRITED DRIVER
 

Im about to enter college and im thinking about getting a brand new Cooper S. The problem is that i went through the fourms and i saw all the problems. Alot of people said you are in contact with your dealer alot. Also alot of problems with the ECU, entering college the last thing i need is my car with like 60k miles to be stopped in the middle of no where. So the main problem thats really stopping me is the reliability... any comments or advice on what to look out for if getting a new mini? I love everything else about it, good MPG, good power, not the most spacious car, but its pretty good.

I've got 20k on mine and only in for normal maintenance ... The only thing that I have is intermittant cruise control works 9/10 but occasionally flashes and won't engage , told it's a switch on the brake , but haven't taken it in ...

thanks bad venge, i just wish these cars were built more like a toyota or honda, just drive the heck out of it till about 120k miles, then throw it away. Dont have to worry about too much

I'm on my second one that I've driven the crap out of and have never had a single problem.

intresting, i guess if you get lucky, you get lucky and if you get a rotten egg, you get a rotten egg. How many miles do you have on your mini's by the way amg6975?

A friend has 80K+ on his '04 Mini S and has no problems other than a bird that broke his windshield.

when you turn off DSC, is it completely off, or do you have to hold it to turn it OFF

EDIT: also is the top speed electronically limited at 139mph?
