Hi Group- I just logged on today and I have a few questions about a 2006 mini cooper S engine. I have the oppurtunity to buy a 2006 Cooper S that needs and engine. As I search the web for a short block or a used enginr I see they are quite pricey and don't know if the base block is different from the S block, Therefore- my questions are:

Is the cooper S engine the same as the non-S engine.....with a supercharger installed. Or is the bottom end and cylinder heads etc, different than the base engine?

Can the super charger be set up to fit on the base engine?

Is the R53 S engine a BMW engine?

Where can I find a decent used 2006 R53 S engine?
