R53 wont start
HI all!
Just picked up an R53 thats been sitting for a few years. cant get the car to start and have begun the troubleshooting process. Looking for advice on anything i may have missed. I have replaced the fuel pump and filter as there was no electrical activity with the pump. I have blown out the fuel lines to the rail, and replaced the fuel pressure regulator. I am still getting very little intermittent fuel pressure. Car has spark but obviously without fuel pressure its not going to run. Is there something else in that fuel system that i am not aware of that might be causing this issue? Thanks in advance! Steve |
have you looked at the injectors to see if they are clogged

Pretty confused at this point. |
UPDATE!
Car is running. Turns out the Fuel pump WAS bad, and the injectors needed cleaning as well. But the issue turned out to be when replacing the fuel pump filter, the new o ring rolled over inside the canister and made it so it didnt seal. When we tested it we were losing the fuel pressure in the tank, and getting none to the rail. Couldnt hear it so the only way to tell was to pull out the unit and test it out of the tank. Anyways, resealed with the oring replaced and tested it outside the tank and all was right. Hope it helps someone down the road! |
