Question 2013 Mini Cooper - Boost CD Bluetooth

Hello all,

New to the forum and new to Minis!

We just got a 2013 Mini Cooper Hard Top with the Boost CD stereo. We have paired our iPhone 5's to the Bluetooth system. We can make calls no problem.

Has anyone found a way to stream audio over bluetooth via AD2P protocol? As far as I can tell and have researched, there is no way to stream audio via bluetooth for the Boost CD stereo. Apparently there is a Mini Connected system upgrade that will do this, but it just seems silly to me that you would have to upgrade your bluetooth system to allow this functionality. My 2012 Subaru's Bluetooth supports AD2P stock.

Any help is much appreciated, otherwise we'll have to buy the Lightning to 30-pin adapter and deal with the extremely short Y cable.

I'll reply to myself. Numerous communication efforts to Dealership and Mini USA have indicated the system is not capable of streaming audio from bluetooth devices (A2DP). Only option is to use onboard USB/AUX solutions, requiring a USB-lightning adapter for me...

Bummer.
