RE: subwoofers

Yes but unfortunately they take up most of the rear hatch area even for a small 10" sub

RE: subwoofers

Go with at least a 10 the others are not true woofers and response suffers .... Pioneer makes an ultra thin 10 I've been eyeing

aftermarket subwoofers sound pretty good inside of the minis i just recently put a 12" sub in mine if you don't mind giving up the whole trunk space then it's a pretty good way to go.

With the pioneer 10 you can make a shallow box the depth of the trunk and make it flat to the lip , use a subwoofer grill to prevent damage when hauling

Old thread, but for those still searching for a subwoofer solution, this one looks pretty sweet. Would be interested in hearing from anyone who's installed one successfully, especially in the R57.

That Pioneer low profile 10" subwoofer may be the way to go though. They have an enclosure meant for under seat install that would likely fit nicely into the boot. Going to measure tomorrow.

those would be a nice start , I thought about making a side mount box to allow the bottom to remain unmolested

Here's another nice option I found. Only an 8" sub, but powered and in a Coop, this might be good enough. Reviews look okay.

i picked up a rockford shallow sub sits right in the bottom of the trunk facing up and i put a cover over the sub so i could place things on top of it if i have to sounds great and looks like it was made for the car...lol

ChiliCoop 01-06-2010 11:06 AM

Is this in a Rockford enclosure? Which model?

I gotta get something. I've only had the car a week and the stock audio system is killing me! :D
