Just got finish with a bath....
 

So after driving ½ way across country, finding a chunk of concrete in the middle of the highway that put a hole in the transmission pan. Being towed to the only Mini dealer around(which happened to be in Nebraska). Sitting there a MONTH, then being professionally hauled the rest of the way across the country THIS is how the car eventually made it to me. FILTHY.
The dirt “spots” on the hood after the wash turned out to be HUGE water spots, in the paint. Not on it IN it. Took 10 hours and 2 days of work AFTER work, I got rid of 95% of the defects. I really need to quit doing this by hand.. Onto the pics..

How did you get rid of the water spots? After parking my MIN in a garage that leaked "water" (or, maybe more accurately: greasy, acidic sludgy stuff) all over the roof, I have spots that look kind of like water spots, but won't come off when i wash the MINI.

I'd love to know what you used to clean off the spots, and how you did it.
