2003 mini (non s)

I just bought my 2003 mini cooper ( non s) and i was wondering if there was anything i could do to the engine to make it faster because it all looks soo compacked? and what would generate the most power at a reasonable cost. thanks.

intake and exhaust are the best bang for the buck
