Anyone drive on unpaved roads?

I just have to get a new ride with good MPG sincemy current vehicle isin the under 20 MPG range. Really considering a Clubman. Will it survive the occasional (once or twice a week) 2-3 miles of unpaved roads I have to be on. Mostly gravel and fairly smooth, but sometimes washboard sections. Anyone have experience with a Mini on such roads?

I drive my 96 mini on gravel roads quite a bit. They are washboarded. The car seems to do fine. Much better than my truck, but worse than my motorcycle. No major problems in doing it.
