Holy Crap! Insurence on a Mini?
 

I was wondering how much you guys (and girls) pay for insurence, what company you have, and how old you are. I'm wondering this because I was planning on getting a Mini when I'm 17 or 18 (I'm 16 now). My truck insurence just raised, and I now do not want to drive anymore. My dad said he talked to the insurence guy (Nationwide) and he laughed at my dad when he asked him how much insurence would be on a Mini for a 16yr Male.

I was really hoping to get a Mini, but now it seems as though I will never get one. I have $10,000 saved up right now, which is half of what I need, however I cannot afford to wait to buy a Mini, when I have the $20,000, plus up to (?) $600 a MONTH for it to be insured.

My heart is now broken...I want a Mini sooooo bad!

I'm not sure if I want to wait the 2-3years it would take to get the money. If I do get a Mini, it would HAVE to be paid off, so all I would have to worry about would be the insurence, not insurence plus a car payment.

Let me know what you guys think! (Ps. The only Mini I want is a 02' EB S) (I might be able to change that, but I REALLY am hoping for that color)

I've never heard of that company before.

Update* As of right now I'm hoping to get one next year when I'm 17. I'm really hoping the current $18+ MCS' will drop down in price, where I can afford one because of the new 07's that will be out. Anyone know if the 07's will be out early 06 or late 06? Any idea's on how much an 02'/03' will cost after the 07's hit?

the price will definately go down...but insurance rates generally stay fairly steady...[:@]

Don't get your hopes up too high though. Mini's hold their value extremely well.

There's a lot of things the MINI has that you can get deductions with a lot of compaines though.

-Immobalizer
-Three sets of airbags
-ABS
-Traction Control (some)

Mine even came with LoJack already installed on it

Why don't you just call several insurance agents and ask them what it will cost you?
