I'm looking for a new car, and I want a stick. So far I've test driven an Audi A4, a Countryman, and a Golf GTI. Of the 3, even though I haven't driven a stick regularly in decades, I only had problems with the Countryman. There seems to be a lot of clutch travel and the car jolted back and forth with many of my shifts. My passengers said it wasn't that bad, but it felt bad to me. Can anyone explain what's different about the Countryman? I don't claim to be the best stick driver, but I've driven a few different sticks in my life besides these 3 and the Countryman seems to be uniquely difficult. I love the car otherwise...
