Mini Roadster

In my search for the best Mini, I am also considering a Mini Roadster.
Anyone driving one, please let me know what you like, dislike, etc. and if you would buy another.

How is the wind buffet with the top down? How about noise level vs. a regular convertible?

Any help would be appreciated.

The MINI roadster is nice and with the top down in the scree in place not to bad. It drives and has a different feel then the R52 convertible and R57 convertible. Drive them all and then you will know what I mean. :) Good luck.

Roadster response.

Thanks for the info. SO the Roadster does utilize a 'behind the seats' wind diverter?

Will be looking at both, and checking the ease of entry. I am 6'2", and do not know if that will work with the top up on the roadster. Checked the R57, with no problems.

The roadster has it behind the seat, between the roll over bars.

Cooper and Cooper S Roadster

I have owned a 2014 non turbo Cooper Roadster (R59) with an automatic and did not like the lack of power or the occassional hesitation when starting from a dead stop. Very annoying. So much so that I gave it back and got a 2015 Cooper S Roadster (turbo) and I love it. Night and day difference in performance for not a lot of money. Great handling, quiet enough, solid, great exaust note (throaty rumble especially when in sport mode and down shifting). You need to try them. They are not for everyone. Plus they stopped making the convertible now. Only hardtops now.

The Coupe and the Roadster are no longer made now, to make room for the new F56 and F55. But very cool and unique MINIs.

The Turbo make a difference in power for sure.:)

*Update* for wind deflectors we have these now. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-love-the...-parts/v-mini/

I say get the roadster S since they are not making them anymore. You'll be the envy of a lot of Mini owners out there. Good luck!

Mini Roadster

Like Sam I am seriously considering swapping my Boxster for a Roadster, Cooper S is my choice.
Just not sure if it should be the petrol S or the oil burner S.
Both engines have their inherent problems ( as do most modern engines ) but I am struggling to get any decent inf on when BMW addressed/corrected the timing chain problem on the N47 diesel engine.
Can anyone shed any light on this ?
Thanks
Jeff
