hey guys i just recently purchased a minicooper and i wanted to remove the bonnett stripes that came on the hood of the car.any tips on how to remove them and if it will cause any damage to the paint? thanks in advance

 

Had the dealer do it when we bought Minnie (my wife's name). I think the guy heated them up w/a hair drier, and they peeled right off. Depending on how long they've been on, the stripes will leave traces on the paint, and you'll probably have to do a deep polish or compound the whole hood, or top, or whever you have stripes.

 

heat gun to loosen up the glue, follow by the 3M adhesive remover to get rid of the glue residue ...
If they have been on for several years they will leave "ghost stripes" the paint underneath is unfaded compared to the rest of the sun faded hood
