Repairing paint scratches Aaaaarrrrrggghh!
 

My R56 is barely 6 months old, and there are chips here and there on the bonnet and front of the roof, as well as 2 tiny chips on the passenger door. (This is crushing, as I have parked nowhere near anyone else's car - and have slogged from the far outer reaches of every parking lot I have dared to put my car-child in for fear of its safety). My marriage-mate pointed out these flaws to me yesterday evening (funny, it was after 'borrowing' the car without asking :mad:).
i will admit that i drive at least 100 miles per day--mostly highway--going to and from work. i have also had many small rocks kicked up from cars/trucks sharing the road over this winter--which has also dinged my windscreen).
Has anyone successfully used the MINI-factory-color-matched touch-up paint so that it did not look like their daughter had a nail-polish mishap on their car? If so, what was your technique?

I've used these with great success , Also get the clear to top coat when done.
I'd recomend getting a clear bra installed to prevent further chips

Thanks for the suggestions. The paint pens aren't expensive, so they seem like an economical way to go.

I have another question for you regarding my car's paint job since my last post/your answer...

While washing my car yesterday, I noticed what looked like an oily residue that had dripped on the roof of my car, and dribbled down the side onto the rear. This did not wash off. I park in a garage, on the bottom floor, and a co-worker had the same stuff dripped onto his car as well. Any idea what this can be, and how to get it off?

I'd guess door lubricant from the garage door ...
I'd try a bug/tar remover or 3M Adhesive remover , or even WD40
