struts

How do you remove /install the struts on the rear hatch of a 2004 Mini. When hatch is raised it simply will not stay up

Have you tried using a broomstick or something to support it up or having someone else help?

since you are replacing them raise the hatch and apply a vice grip not at 100% open
then remove one at a time and replace by removing the torx screws
