Top Gun Rally
Welcome to our new daytime Saturday rallies. These rallies are all SCCA Regional RoadRallies and scores on each event will be counted toward the Southern California RoadRally Championship.
The June event is the Top Gun Rally. If you have ever wondered what it's like to look across the ocean to find your aircraft carrier from the seat of your F-14 Tomcat, this rally is for you. You will drive through the most dramatic scenery in the whole SoCal region and fully test the handling of your car. We will get up close pictures of that famous fighter jet as well as an F-4 Phantom. We will also remember some of the famous quotes from the Top Gun Movie. We will cruise along a beautiful stretch of beaches. This event is written especially for beginners with everything explained fully. It is also includes timing challenges for experts.
Start location for this rally is Starbucks, 23335 Mulholland Dr, Woodland Hills, CA 91364. Rally Route Instructions will be given out on the day starting at 9:00 am, first car starts at 10:01 am (cars run one minute apart), and the rally will take approximately 3.7 hours to complete. There is a beginner/Richta meeting at 9:40 am.
Rallymaster for June 14 is Paul McGaffey. The rally will be an SCCA regional tour rally in Monte Carlo format with all Checkpoints listed in the route instructions and all Checkpoint times given. There will be no assigned average speeds to maintain. Creeping and/or stopping will be allowed without penalty. Just follow the directions until you find a Checkpoint and then pace yourself into the Checkpoint sign at exactly your correct time for a perfect zero! All roads will be paved and public. Events will run rain or shine. These events are NOT races. They are contests of precise driving and accurate navigation.

The "Tail of the Dragon" in Tennesee is famous for having 318 curves in 11 miles. This is mostly through forests so all you see is trees.
Our June 14th "Top Gun Rally", has 165 curves in 13 miles on one leg. And, you will see incredible mountain and ocean views. Come out and join us!
