Trunk

On my 2004 Mini Cooper,I can't get the trunk to stay up,is there a way you can adjust the arms or do they just have to be replaced.If someone has a answer can you please E-Mail me at klgrayson61@sbcglobal.net Don't think wifey wants to get head banged again
