Turning Signal Blinking L/R on Its Own

Howdy.

I own a 2014 Countryman S Works. I park in the driveway, which has a bit of a downgrade. Because it is a shared drive, I always leave my wheels turned so the car can’t roll any where except into my own front yard, should anything unexpected happen.

Yesterday I hopped in and fired up the engine. The right signal blinked a couple times, pause, the left blinked a couple times, pause, the right...

I did not have the signals on and I tried to use the lever to ensure they were off.

I signal as I exit my drive so any approaching drivers know where I’m going. I signaled a left turn although the signals continued to alternate. The right signal activated and blinked a few times, then the left took its turn. This continued for about two blocks and then it stopped. Signals functioned normally since.

Anyone else ever experienced this? Any idea why this might happen?
