Will Mini Diesel ever make it to the US?

Anyone have any insight into whether the Mini Diesel will ever make it to the U.S.?

I have seen a few internet Polls collecting "signitures"/votes to send to BMW USA requesting that the Diesel Mini be brought to the U.S.

Nope. Won't burn the diesel we use here.

What is different between the diesel we burn and European diesel?

Sulfur content and some other stuff. The diesel there is much cleaner.

Too bad. When in Europe,I have haqd the opportunity to rentdiesel cars a couple times. You wouldn't know they are a diesel, until you stop to put in fuel, and they get far better milage than any gasoline engine would dream about. Hopefully diesels will catch on in this country, and they will change the regs to make them acceptable.
