I took my 06 MCSC in for brake work. All brakes were changed and $1000+ later that was resolved. Within 1/4 mile of the repair shop I realized I had no power. I was on a highway entrance ramp with nowhere to go and I only had one gear that would only get me to 40 mph. I tried to move into manual shifting - nothing. I tried using the paddles - nothing. I quickly exited and returned to the repair shop. They tried to analyze the problem but ended up shipping it to the Mini dealer. I am now told that my car that ran perfectly when I took it in for brake work now needs a new transmission. Is there anything else anyone can think of before I have to sink $9k into a car I paid $18k for? It only has 61k miles and had no issues prior to the brake repairs.
