Greetings to all, I am planning in buying a 2006 Mini Cooper S for 2k but the problem is the engine need to be replaced. According to the mechanic the engine has a crack and did not specify if it's the head or block. I have check eBay for a used motor and they range around 1600-2500. I am mechanically incline but would like to know how hard is to replace an engine for this car. Do you guys know where I can get a used motor for a decent price?

I would check youtube. I'm sure you'll find someone who has done it before.

 

Do you know if the base engine block is the same as the S engine block?
