Default Airbag and Seat Belt Lights On

I just picked up a 2007 Mini Cooper S before I bought it the airbag light was on. The dealer I bought it from fixed it by replacing the clock spring. Fast forward 4 days and it came back on when i started it up this afternoon. But now the seat belt light is also on. I am trying to get an idea what could be causing this. By any chance could these two errors be related to each other? also does anyone have an idea what could be causing these?. I have a diagnostics tool coming in a few days. But this is just worrying me. So if anyone has any ideas. It would be much appreciated. Thanks a bunch

I have a 2012 R56. They have an extended warranty that covers passenger restraint system. Might check it out and see if your year is covered. No cost for replacement.

Thanks, It ended up being the seat belt pretensioners. The car apparently was in an accident since the pretensioners were blown. But who ever "fixed" it after the crash decided to put resistors into the plugs to bypass it but hey came loose and that is why it turned on. The drivers side pretensioners are nearly impossible to find. I ended up getting a great deal on a pair seats and just replaced the seats.
