RE: beeping noise

Can you be more specific please?

Is the ding an alarm indicator coming from an electronic device on the dash?

Is the ding a metalic sounding ding coming from the tranny housing area (Where the stick shift comes out)?

Do you have two metalic dingy sounding things on your keychain that may be clanking together when you shift gears?

RE: beeping noise

I wasn't actually familiar with it, but perhaps it is because of the gear setup in manual trannys...its a much lower setup which ur forward gears are higher... ever notice how reverse can not go as fast as in forward. visit this one: science.howstuffworks.com/gear3.htm
