I have a 2017 Mini Cooper S convertible (John Cooper Works). My friend also has one. When he connects his phone via bluetooth to play music, he can advance songs in his playlist using the controls on his steering wheel. Today I took my car in for service to the local dealership and inquired about this capability. Service tech said in all likelihood my friend had it added after his purchase with aftermarket products. My friend says no. Also the loaner I got from the dealership was able to perform this same function after I paired my phone to the vehicle.
Is this tech just shining me on? Can anyone shed some light on this issue?
