Brake Repair Kit
Ok.. so I go down the the mini dealer to find out how much it would cost to get some new brake pads.
So they tell me $28.22 for the front and $28.22 for the back. So I say, great, give me a set of each. But then they say... "oh, by the way you need to get the Repair Kit as well." I ask what that is and they say.. "you need it if your replacing the brake pads." OK, "How much" "$150.10 for the front, and $101.14 for the back" "Why do I need this kit???" "Cause it goes with the brake pads" S0.. What exactly is in the "Repair Kit" and why can't I just put new pads on if the the rotors are still in good shape? $30 vs. $300 is a big difference. |
What model and year MINI do you have? I don't know how the brake pads can be that cheap. I think the repair kit was maybe that amount. Repair kits are usually the pins and sliders and brake pad / slide grease, what is replaced when you do the pads.
Also you should replace the brake pad sensors, because they illuminate a light ion the dash to tell you when the pads need replaced. Thanks and hope that helps. |
