Driver side top brake light
 

The top brake light on the driver side does not function. The original lense had a small crack in it and I thought it may have contributed to the issue. I put a new tail light in it and the lights worked for about 1 week and today I got the warning icon that there was a light out. Same one again. Any ideas. The car is a 2012 r58 Cooper S coupe with 15,000 miles.
