Default Fog lights

I just ordered my 08 MCS the other day, and cant wait for it to get in. One thing I was curious about, though, is that most cars have their fog lights turn off when the high-beams go on. I was wondering if Coopers are the same way, and if so, if theres a way to re-code, or re-wire the lights so that once enabled, they stay on for high and low-beam.

on the coopers the fog lights only come on when the high beams are on. that is how we wire the lights. i am sure you can wire them anyway you want.

Federal laws allow that the fog lights come on only when the low beam lights are on. Allowing them to come on with the high beams would blinding the on coming drivers. The fog lights are usually controlled by a relay. When the the high beams come on it automatically shuts the fog light relay off. There is also a possibility that all the lights are controlled by one control unit. Knowing the parent company BMW, that's the way they do it. They try to make things as complicated as possible. It could be done, but it would take a lot of work.

Is there a way to have the front and rear fog lamps automatically come on as do the daytime running lights? I like the look and increased visibility of the fogs, but it seems silly to flip two switches every time I get into the car. Thanks.
