Hatchback Stuck

Hi All~

I'm new here - thanks for any help that you can provide!

I was unloading things out of my 2005 Mini Cooper S this evening, and when I went to reopen my hatchback, it simply wouldn't budge. Any tips on how to fix this problem, or any ideas what may have caused it?

Does the solenoid "pop" when you press the button?
