key fob - not sure what this is??
 

Just bought a 2010 Mini Cooper S today. The dealer only had one key fob (keyless entry, lock trunk open etc) it has the metal key inside. However, attached to the fob was another smaller oblong shaped fob - no buttons, but has a low battery indicator light - that's it. On the back it has FCC ID stamped on it. What is this second fob????

Put the FCC ID into your favorite search engine and you should get results indicating what company requested the FCC ID and what type of device it controls. I did it with my MINI key and there's a great site out there that catalogs all of the FCC ID's issued. Can't remember the site at the moment otherwise I would post it.
